I freakin accidentally dyed my favorite t shirt of all time! My vintage inspired Prince T Shirt!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God is punishing me (probably for liking the shirt to begin with)!!!!!!! I am positive that this is punishment for some not so nice thoughts I've had this week!
Yesterday I got the bright idea to dye my white gap skirt because it wasn't so white anymore and it was driving me crazy. I decided it should be yellow. Simple enough, Right? So, off I go to Walmart and buy clothing dye in yellow and a "white brightener". I was still debating if I wanted to try making the skirt white. Well, I dye the skirt successfully. You'll see that soon because I packed it for my trip to Virginia tomorrow. Per the directions, after the successful dye job, I did a cleansing rinse in my machine to get rid of residue...........SO I THOUGHT!!!!! I even washed a load of clothes after that and they were fine.

This morning, I got the urge to brighten the white in the Prince t shirt along with some white shorts. When I opened the dye package, I thought it was kind of odd that the contents were orange but what do I know? I looked at it...thought hmmm...why aren't the contents white and double checked the box to make sure it says WHITE BRIGHTENER! IT DID!!
I put the garments in and just assumed that the box was smarter than I was. 30 minutes later! YELLOW PRINCE!!! PRINCE IS YELLOW! NO!!!!!! THis is my favorite tshirt! It's not really vintage but it's vintage inspired and the company I ordered it from BLOWS because it took 3 months to get the shirt and I NEVER want to give them my money again.
Now...Prince is YELLOW:( Life is NOT a parade...it's a YELLOW shirt now.
I'm still gonna rock it...only on days when I really hate myself:(

ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure Prince had on some yellow roller skates in one of his videos. I was kind of broken up w/him at the time so I don't remember which one. In any case, I don't think he'd mind the yellow. It's a bit more fly than the white. Plus no one will have your shirt. *lol*

Sounds like you need to write the dye company, tell them how it was in the wrong box and ask for enough $$ to buy a new shirt!
