I Saved You The Trouble:)

Out of sheer boredom, I went to browse in Macy's Saturday. I had no intentions on buying anything but that never stops me from trying things on every once in a while.

I found some Calvin Klein boots that were uber sexy and different but kind of naughty all at the same time. I am always on a quest for boots so I thought I should try these. I don't really know how to feel about them. As I tried them, I immediately had an urge to hold a whip...don't know why? Hmph.

I felt very much like a video vixen, which is not a bad thing, if that's what one aspires to be. Several people came up to me and ooohed and aaahed over the boots...I replied by whispering, "I kind of feel like a fluzy". I used another word but you may be reading this post at work:)

They weren't in my budget...well because I am poor...but I couldn't rationalize wearing them that often. I wouldn't be able to wear them to school because they would probably change the teacher dress code in honor of these boots! Not that I would be entirely against that but I'm not trying to make any waves. I also don't go out to clubs which is where these boots would outshine the boppers, so these Matrix meets Video Vixen remained in the Macy's Shoe Department.

Allow me to digress for a hot second....

I did randomly meet this awesome chick as I sheepishly pranced around in these boots. We gabbed about our big hair and jobs and those Video Vixen boots I was wearing. She shared how she left a job that she didn't like for a career that matches her personality. I got inspired in the whole approximate six minutes of that exchange. She then commented that I seemed very "cultured" and wondered if I was from around these parts.

I told her that people ask me that all the time...but the truth is that I am as southern as you can get:) I will admit that when I travel to the east coast that I feel like I am more in my element though:) At any rate, THAT was an AWESOME compliment. I felt very proud to have been considered cultured and "cool" on some level! It's amazing how people pick up on your spirit/energy within a few seconds! If you are reading this Arianne, Thank you! Our short conversation was inspiring and your compliments made my day! *

Okay, back to the mockery of my Macy's experience...

I also tried on the jumpsuit by Rachel Roy's "affordable" line in Macy's. The model looks cute in it and I am starting to like the romper look on others.....but it was a big HELL to the NO on my body. HID.E.OUS! I think I am too short to pull off this look or not skinny enough or something...I couldn't figure it out. The crouch hung too low and the rear end view was not flattering at all. So I am posting the pics just for you...to show you WHAT NOT TO WEAR...Go ahead...and laugh at my expense...I did it in the name of fashion:)

I'm still having mixed feelings about the boots. I feel like if I wore them, the whole day I would be explaining how I am really a good girl but just like the boot because it's different and edgy. I can't have those types of conversations with strangers! lol

All in all...I walked out empty handed...which was the point anyway, wasn't it?

...I secretly kinda like the boots but I would have to buy a leather jacket and a gun to go with it....the gun is not in my budget this year though:(

...please excuse the camera phone photo shoot...:(

What do you think about the boots?

Oh My Goodness! I just had a visual of me going to my sister's ultra conservative church with these boots!! They would lead me straight to the altar for prayer!! LOL!

Love the boots but I totally get that they aren't super practical. And rompers are so hard to wear. It took me months and months to find just the right one.

So glad that you met someone who inspired you. Aren't those unexpected encounters just the best?

OK I have to comment and i know its been a while but I do subscribe and read on the ph. but heres the the I think those boots are STUPID!!!! I know "Tell me how you really feel" That how peep toe boot style is stupid and the booties too. It looks like that tacky gladiator sandles that strap up your leg so not cute on ANYBODY!!! Its like that crazy posh spice heels with no heel. WTH? Its not fashion nobody should be walking around in Chinese binding shoes on a regular basis.

I do however love jumpsuits and was thinking about squeezing my curves into one.

**Sidenote** Georgia took 4 steps yesterday and like 1 and 1/2 today. SHe is totally teasing me.

Christen...that's the word I was looking for...PRACTICAL...they SO are NOT.

Kenge..You are so silly! I could totally see you looking over the top of your glasses at my pics! Yay GoGO!!

Oh those are so cute- BUT I also know what you mean about getting looks or having to explain yourself to strangers. How about a version of that boot without the holes, but some laser cuts in the leather? That way they would be practical in the winter and still look edgy ;)
ps- I have a jump suit that I hardly wear because it does weird things to my body too- I should have left it on the rack.

oh those boots are killer! But I completely understand not really having any where to wear them! thats the worst... I always find things that aren't practical. If only we all could walk the runway and have crazy glamorous places to where gorgeous boots like this. Its so great you made a friend while shopping, so much fun when that happens! And I totally understand about the romper! They are so hard to wear, they just don't fit right. I've seen so many look cute on others, and I've tried so many on and it just won't work no matter what I do. anyways love those boots!!

Great post, love the boots. I'm never about practicality when it comes to shoes, LOL.

love the boots, I think I should be more practical when buying shoes, wouldn't have so many just sitting in my closet

Those boots are wild! I love stuff like that - but alas I am too much of a hippie and would never have anyplace to wear them . . . don't think they would do the trick in the garden LOL

The boots are beyond hot. I'm having to restrain myself from running down to my local Macy's as I type!

I think the trick to wearing edgier pieces is to pair them with more conservative items. No leather and no gun!
Well, maybe if it's concealed in your fabulous bag...

Don't you hate how sometimes the cutest things are totally unpractical and not in our price range! Why is that? Those boots are super cute!

Hehe you're so cute, especially the last bit bout your sis's ultra conservative church!

Love the boots though! It's a pity how many things we don't end up wearing because of what other ppl thinks:)

I would love to be a fly on the wall at that church. :) Just sayin'....

Thanks for the fun. If my Hubs hadn't torn his knee and racked up medical bills to the SKY...I might consider taking myself shopping. But alas....I won't get pampered until the year 2026.

Happy Friday and weekend! I'm popping over from SITS roll call.

OK, I don't even think those boots are all that edgy. I think they are fun, and sexy, but not over the top. If you like them, save up and get them. With a knee length dress I just do NOT see how anyone could have a too sexy issue/dress code thing with them. You know?

XOXO

The boots are cute but if you're not sure about them you probably wouldn't end up wearing them, at least thats how I am :)

Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!

This post made me laugh. The shoes are kind of sleazy and kind of hot. My husband would love them. But I don't think I'd have the guts to wear them outside of the bedroom... ;)

Thanks for stopping by and commenting! I'm going to follow you. I love shoes and anyone with the name "God's Favorite Shoes" has got to be a good read... :)

Love the boots! You could buy them and save them for a trip out to the East Coast. I'm with you on the rompers. They look great on fabulously skinny models, but I'm not so sure about how it would look on me. I think I'm just way too short, and maybe a bit too curvy too.

Those boots are cool, I call them "shoe art" it's something to add to the collection, though you don't know where you would ever wear them, you still feel the need to won a pair. I like the jumpsuit but I also have a problem with drapey, unstructed looks in jumpsuits. I do better with a mechanic style jumpsuit like the one Alexander McQueen did for Target a few months back. I think it is good fun to try things on and walk away especially when you are right about not buying things above your budget.

Mines back to zero so I'll have to work my wardrobe very hard.
Thanks for liking my boots!

I say get the boots and wear them to church. People need a little legalistic kick in the pants every once in a while LOL

yeah, those are some serious boots, but i kinda love them. it would be a very daring and fun purchase for sure!

I love the boots but hell if I know when I would ever wear something like that!! The jumpsuit caught my eye though... I wonder if I could possibly pull it off. Must hit up Macy's soon, heheh.

The boots are GORG! I've been looking for cut-out boots, but haven't found the perfect pair just yet. The best thing about these boots is that you can even wear them in hotter weather or countries... or layer them on top of sheer contrast-colored stockings for autumn... But yeah, I absolutely get what you mean about the urge to hold a whip while trying those babies on. Hilarious! :)

i think the boots are gorgeous but understand not getting them completely. im likely not going to get a pair of 'over the knee' trend boots either, my harley davidson's are as close to badass shoes as i'm getting...

I passed through Macy's on my way to another store and I saw those boots. They are fierce. I think I wouldn't mind owning a pair. They should have made it as a ankle boot instead of knee length
