And she wore shoes but after church she kicks them off. Don't we all?!?

I wore this to church and a holiday party this week.

I was driving and saw this mural and had to stop! 

I don't know why it's there or how long it will stay but I am here for it! 

Just got out of church, talking about "We Be Clubbin!"

P.S. Zara is 7 months old now. Trying to crawl. Kicks when she wants to be picked up and smiles only for people she knows or warms up to. Otherwise, she will stare a whole right through your soul. Just like her mama!

This is what I wore to church today. 

It's a thrifted Isaac Mizrahi for Target jacket that I wore as a dress.

Matter of fact everything that I am wearing is thrifted with the exception of the Paris Hilton heels. 

But I need you to help with something. 

While at church, the choir starts to sing "As Long As I Got King Jesus."

A dude next to me My husband nudges me and asks me if they are about to sing "Neutron Dance" by The Pointer Sisters.

Dude. Really!?

You think the choir is singing a song from the Beverly Hills Cop movie!?!?

I was no longer focused. 

Neutron Dance was officially in my head. 
SMH.

GFS Christ Chic: Sucks

 

Did I tell you guys the story about a grown woman sucking her thumb in church a few weeks ago?

YESSSS!

A grown woman! 

I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!

And she was a fly chick too!

Hair was swinging...

Louis Vuitton Speedy in her lap...

Banging body...

She couldn't have been more than 25.

She was the chick guys rap about...not the video vixen type but the "she's bad" type.

She sat in the row in front of me.

She turned to the side for something and that's when I saw it!

HER THUMB WAS IN HER MOUTH and she was going to TOWN!

I think I made a noise but the choir drowned me out.

I tapped my husband.

Alerted the brother in law.

Burned a hole in the back of her friends' heads because they clearly were okay with it. 

I was distracted from that point on because I was trying to make it make sense in my head.

When it was time...."sucky thumb ladychick" got up during altar call for prayer...

Ummm hmmm.

For a split second I wondered what she was praying for.

But then quickly realized it's not my business.

But I wondered.

 P.S...Before you get wound up...I'm not anti thumb sucking on adults. And yes church is supposed to be a place of worship. But there are distractions anywhere. An adult sucking their thumb should expect to get noticed.

You never know where you will get your life lessons.

It can be in church.

I was in CVS (drugstore) yesterday to grab a birthday card for my buddy.

As I was minding my own business, I peeped two ladies behind me in their summer best. 

Sexy shorts and even sexier heels.

One of the chicks was on the phone explaining to someone how Kevin Garnett (pro ball player) was across the street at Farragos, eating on the patio.

(Side note: It's 100 degrees in Houston, if you're a celebrity sitting on the patio...you WANT to be seen. #just saying)

At any rate, the chick told her friend that she was going to walk over there and convince Kevin Garnett to go to the other restaurant/bar across the street.

I screamed silently. 

Not because of Kevin Garnett.

I'm not into basketball.

But the fact that I was about to witness how groupies work!

That was exciting to me!

So I scurried to my car and watched the whole thing in my rear view mirror.

I saw Kevin Garnett on the patio chatting with his B-ball buddies.

I saw the girls sashay across the street.

Leg Longs. Hair to the waist. Gucci sunglasses. LV purses. And sheer determination.

I watched them approach the table and not get turned away.

I saw giggling gestures.

Hair being tossed over the shoulder.

A little texting....

Then I drove off.

Because I was going to be late to a birthday party! 

But I was impressed nonetheless!

GFS Christ Chic: Timed Chaos

Are you one of those people who will lay your clothes out the night before?

How does that work!?!

Teach me.

How do you know what kind of mood you are going to be in the next day?

That baffles me.

Mr. GFS gets mad every Sunday because he says I make him late.

That is so not true.

It's just that I think of the small details as I'm walking out of the door.

I'll get downstairs, then run back up because I decided to change a shoe.

I'll get to the door when I realize, I'd rather wear different earrings.

Oh,  then I have to pack my purse for some "church scooby snacks." 

(usually pretzels, cheese or almonds...yes, I'm 3 years old)

I'll get to the car then will hop back out so I can go grab a different belt. 

LOL!

It drives him crazy!!

He swears every time that we are going to be late for church.

But that NEVER happens.

We always get there on time.

ALWAYS.

But when we get there, I have to go to the ladies room because I forgot to use it at home! 

But I always make it to my seat before the man who looks like he was a member of the70's group The Whispers sings his solo.

I like to call it "timed chaos."

It's gonna trend one of these days.
