I've Got Plans This Summer!

( Zara was in mid twerk mode apparently)

It's officially summertime! 

My goal is to read a ton of non-fiction books.

Work on a major project that hopefully I will be able to share with you upon completion. 

And lately I've been in interior decorating mode. 

(If you follow me on IG, then you already know that)

All of this while chasing Zara in heels. 

Mostly in flats but today in heels.

I just bought Girlboss to read and I have a few more on my list. 
What books would you recommend for summer reading? Fiction/non-fictions are both welcome.
Do you remember back in the day when you had to read a certain number of bucks for the summer at your local library? LOL!

The Lessons of a 37 Year Old

I'm thinking the peplum on this skirt gave me a little extra junk in the trunk.

The same junk that I worked so hard to get off this summer.

But it was my birthday.

It was raining.

And I didn't care.

Even the hair is starting to have a mind of its own, but I kinda am embracing that.

That''s what happens at age 37, you just go with it...whatever it is.

I hear age 38 is the year of "not sweating the small stuff."

I'm already ahead of the game:)

Double-Booked

Last week This week One day that wasn't today, Rocquelle of Consider Me Lovely asked me to be her plus one at a private blogger event at the Houston Galleria. 

There was a mini tour of a few stores showcasing their Spring 2012 looks.

I was kind of double booked that day because I had to attend the PJ Morton concert. 

Lee-Lonn, my client, was the opening act so it is my job to attend his shows as his wardrobe stylist.

 (Remember I was the video wardrobe stylist for Lee-Lonn's video:)

For the concert, I switched the striped skirt for a black maxi skirt and some flats.

LeeLonn was awesome and PJ Morton impressed me. 

I even ran into someone who reads my blog! 

*waves hi again*

I was totally surprised that someone other my sister reads my blog.

Well not really...because you read my blog...obviously:)

I always JOKE that only my sister reads my blog and that's just for the pictures! HA

(I know I have fab and faithful readers:)

GFS Christ Chic: That Feeling In Your Gut

I've been having this feeling in my gut for the past few weeks...maybe even months...that things will change. 

In a good way. 

I'm overly inspired by people who turn their passions into a paycheck. 

Anytime I hear stories of people who stepped out on faith and made things happen for themselves...I get this tingle in my spine. 

God has been planting seeds in me through so many conversations with friends and family.

I don't know what that means for me specifically....but it means something. 

I'll keep you posted!

Truth

I'm really obsessed with this thrift store camo jacket/shirt. 

I've worn it three times this week. 

If it's tomorrow...I'm probably wearing it then/now.

Anyone else going to see The Hunger Games? 

I CAN NOT WAIT!

I have to brave the teenagers for a seat but I WILL DO IT!

I'm going to the movie theater on the other side of town though. 

I would rather slice my eyeballs open with a hot, rusty  box cutter than run into one of my students at the closer movie theater.

I was able to swing by a private Giorgio Armani event at Neiman Marcus.

I received a complimentary makeup session with celebrity make up artist Tim Quinn and his team.

I think I may have found a new foundation too!

I wish you could smell him through this picture.

And he was hilarious!

GFS Christ Chic: Denial

Here are all the things I tried to do to avoid accepting the Whitney Houston news:

1. Watch comedies

2. Play Words with Friends

3. Watch House Lies (with Don Cheadle)

4. Watch hours of Friday Night Lights

5. Eat Frenchy's Chicken

6. Catch up on episodes of The Good Wife (soooo good!)

7. Catch up on Up All Night (Maya Rudolph is a comic genius)

8. Planned outfits to pack for The Texas Style Council Conference in a few weeks

But alas, I had to watch the homegoing celebration on CNN.

And honeyyyyyyyy, I've never been so proud to be a believer! 

A believer in Christ, just to be clear.

I'm not a bible thumper and I would suck at being a deacon's wife just because of the dress code but I know what I know.

I am convinced that Whitney's homegoing brought somebody to Christ. 

THAT...was Whitney's final and greatest gift of all.

Now dance to I Wanna Dance with Somebody.
