Today is the Day

Here is a quickie of what I wore today. I'm not overly impressed with it but I was going for total comfort today. Just one of those days. The skirt from Zara's is actually floor length. I have it pulled all the way up to my chest to shorten the length. I love that it's a jersey material, it feels like sweats...wait... a sweat skirt!
I'm not completely sure if I love these $7 Suede oxfords from Target with this outfit. I figured for 7 bucks, I could try out the new "brogue/oxford" shoe look. I think I need to wear them with leggings or a dress and tights.

Oh, today is the day that I officially started going back to the gym. It's been since forever but after two straight weeks of "waking up sleepy"... I decided to take matters in my own hands. I can tell that I am getting old because I'm  having to do old people stuff like work out and exfoliate my skin every night. LOL!

I went to my Zumba class today and let's just say that I was only conscious for the first half of it. The second half, I think I was hallucinating because the dance instructor started to grow horns out of her head. . If I knew how to insert my own personal IV in my arm, I would totally have a drip going right now.

Random thoughts while I was hyper-ventilating (working out).

1. Apparently, I can't dance as well as I thought because I could not even keep the beat and breathe at the same time.
2. That gay guy has way more rhythm than me.
3. Is he gay?
4. He's kinda hot.
5. The gay guy totally looks like "Slade" from the Housewives of the O.C.
6. Will the gay guy be able to pick me up once I finally decide to collapse?

7. When did the room start spinning?
8.  I need to find out what Shakira song is playing while I watch the class do lunges.
9. I need to program an emergency number in my cell phone in case I do collapse.
10. Should I eat that one slice of leftover pizza in the fridge when I get home?

Attention Houston Bloggers...I was talking to Mocha Trina of Ah Me So Hungry and she suggested doing a Houston Blogger meet up...anyone interested? Let me know.

(Oh...for the "sensitive"...Please read the "about me" section to the upper right of my page. If you did, or you know me...you know I find humor in most situations...I'm kind of like Chandler from Friends. God totally has a sense of humor too...look at me:)

A blog about shoes? Count me in.

I keep promising myself I'm gonna go to the gym, but instead I'm sitting here eating leftover king cake for breakfast. :/

First things first, I love jersey material too, most of the time, and I was liking your coat too.

Good for you for getting back into that gym!! The first week back, or 2 or 3...jk..is always the hardest! I was cracking up at your thoughts while in class...LOL!! I have a Zumba (advanced...yikes) that my neighbor gave me and did with me when I first moved down here!! Needless to say she laughed at me the first time I did it!!!

girl, I feel your pain. Let me tell you, I just went back to the gym, since I gained ten extra pounds being home and unemployed.

Zumba with killya. But after a couple of classes you will get the hang of it!

I would so love to try a zumba class. I must find one! All my friends are going to them! I need to go to a gym. You know why I hate going? Everyone there is skinny and looks great. And me? Not so much.

Having an emergency number in your cell sounds like a good idea. Laughed at the instructor growing horns! Ha, ha.

Congrats on your SITS day and good luck with your exercising!

That's too funny. I have to say, I felt pretty much the same way in my first few cardio classes, but I haven't attempted Zumba. I think I'll add that to my To Don't list...

wow, that sounds so familiar. Oh yeah, those crazy days when I thought getting up at 5am for a 6am workout before work was a good idea. Spinning?? Is for people who want to die in public. My main concern was to not fall off the bike, since the mat for it was only about as wide as the bike, and the hardwood floor wouldn't cradle me in sympathy were I to collapse onto it.

I can so sympathize. I only did that twice. those bikes are evil.

Now you have made me reconsider doing the Zumba class at my gym! LOL I was totally thinking about doing this weekend, now I am not so sure.

Not sure where to post this but I wanted to ask if anyone has heard of National Clicks?

Can someone help me find it?

Overheard some co-workers talking about it all week but didn't have time to ask so I thought I would post it here to see if someone could help me out.

Seems to be getting alot of buzz right now.

Thanks
