It rained like crazy this weekend. Rain + Afro= Wearing a Cap/Hat

Here's just a quick weekend post. I rarely wear shorts...and by rarely I mean never. But for some reason, I've decided it's okay. I absolutely loathe the feeling of shorts "riding up" on me. It drives me crazy but these are actually comfy to wear.
I am not one of those "runway" watchers but I must say that I've stumbled across a few of the Ralph Lauren Spring shots and immediately fell in love. I'm really into menswear and this is done oh so right. It kind of has that "I'm a farmer during the Dust Bowl era and the only thing I have to wear are my husband's clothes" kind of look. My ensemble today was directly inspired by the Ralph Lauren "look". I already have a few more "inspired" outfits in mind:)
By the way, I was a having a discussion about my style today and I couldn't come up with an official title for my style. Scroll down this page and take a look at some of my pics. How would you describe my style?

Ralph Lauren and I have been close for years. I love his stuff.

Your style: urban chic with a hint of old money.

I love the way you put things together.

OH my gosh, your shoe collection is ridiculous. So jealous. Very cute outfit. Work it girl. I just washed my fro and put in about 30 twists. I wish I had a sharp hat like that to rock this week.

You make plaid look good. And like you, I don't wear shorts (not in the last 10 years) but you have inspired me.

I love the new blog background, by the way.

I know everyone said eclectic but I WAS going to say 'eclectic-chic'

I think that about sums it up. btw, I like to describe my sense of style as: "Half Denise Huxtable, half Peggy Bundy!"

Eclectic - absolutely! We are all in sync on that part of the description. I'm not sure I'd hyphenate - but if I did it would be eclectic-electrifying. I'm just sayin'....

BTW, I completely agree with the camera self-timer 1 shot at a time thing - very tedious. I actually picked up a Canon Digital Elph today (on sale at Office Depot because the new ones are out), which lets you take 10 in a row on the self timer function. I'll let you know how it goes, Chelsea loves hers so... go with what you know.

looking good, little lady! i haven't worn shorts in years. it can be done right, but i usually go with skirts. unless i am getting a pedicure, then it is jeans, or skirts with bike shorts underneath. but who cares about that.

are you telling me that you are going to wear those denim overalls? egads! please tell me you won't. bahahhahaha! aw, if anybody could make it look good, it would be YOU!
