Yes, I've worn this dress on this blog before. But not with this necklace, or these shoes or with my hair back. So in my head this counts as being worthy for a post.
I think I got this dress for like 2 bucks when I first caught the thrifting bug. I've been pulling out clothes from the back of the closet to the front lately.
I'm at a new job and supposedly the dress code is "conservative." Like literally...conservative. I don't know how to handle that concept so I just set my own standards for what conservative means. Apparently according to this outfit, conservative means wedges, a purple shirt dress and a huge necklace.
I got a few looks but that's pretty normal for me so I just kept on stepping. I've always been one to break a rule or two, it's too much like right not to.
What's your employer's dress code? Do you follow it?

At my last job, the dress code was just biked-to-work chic. Sweat stains and a dried sweat smell were the norm. It's a pretty conservative field, but at non-profits fashion takes a back seat to no pedicures and elastic waist pants.

My last job was business casual. Which to some meant flip flops and t-shirts.
Now that I am self employed and living on an island, the dress code is whatever. I usually stick to dresses in the summer. People here wear tube tops to work at the bank. Haha! Can you imagine what would happen to them in the States?
We have no "real" dress code at my work, all that is required is to look let's say "respectable" and a little bit conservative when people come into our offices for meetings. Your dress would be fine, but the wedges wouldn't pass that code. I love them though :)))
Lurv that necklace - so gorgeous! My dress code at work is sort of anything goes - really. There used to be people that would show up in sweats. I however, like to try to step it up a notch!

Oh how I miss the dress code. The med center used to have a great dress (except for pantyhose) and at the moment, the only folks who seem to enforce it is Methodist and some (although small) parts of BTGH.
BCM needs to hire some fashion police because from the lab rats to the office staff, it's pretty dismal around here. I will gladly volunteer for the position and make sure to carry around shirts without stains, pants in varying sizes and real shoes. Can we say flip flops are NOT work appropriate!
Yes, I just blasted my school on the web and hopefully someone will Google me, read it, mention it to HR and make the necessary changes (not firing me for speaking my mind on how tacky most of us dress at work).

We are business casual and in an office environment I try to be conservative but with an edge. Whether it's jewelery or my shoes. I usually get compliments, some looks, but I don't care anymore.
I work for the federal government, so yeah we have a dress code...right wing conservative, LOL. When I work in DC,suits are de riguer but since I am in the district,I can be a little looser but not too much. It's not as bad as no peep toes and must wear pantyhose but jeans are a never and jackets are preferred if not required.
I don't even know the dress code...so NOPE..

sorry for the slow commenting on my part. our dumb boss decided to renovate the gallery, which means we had to move. and then we get to move back again in a couple of months. M-U-R-D-E-R is on my mind after this stupid move!

I used to work at a church and I think "conservative" was putting it mildly. Pantyhose was required at all times (even in the heat of summer!) but hardly anyone abided by that but their solution was to wear pants and trouser socks or long dresses. I was called in to HR because a hater (i.e. co-worker) told them that I was wearing patterned tights. *gasp! PATTERNED tights!* Needless to say it was a torturous experience...
I'm self-employed so my dress code is a robe and slippers. When the boss comes by (me) I sometimes put on sweatpants and t-shirt.
However, absolutely no coffee stains.

I don't know what our dress code is. Professional? I wear black pants and a black shirt almost every day. I am very fashionable...or not.

I am currently a SAHM so no dress code, however I'm going back to school to become an Early Childhood Educator so the dress code for that is pretty casual. I've been an Administrative Assistant in the past and these days the dress code for that is pretty much business casual.
I work for myself & am a stay-at-home mom so I can wear whatever I want. My last job I was a buyer for a corporate retailer, so the attire was a combo of conservative & fashion forward. I wore a lot of French Connection & Max Studio.
I love this entire look, but the NECKLACE is BANGING!!!!! Your hair being pulled back gives it even more edge! You and Juanette are gonna have to do a conference call/skype or something with me soon!!!! I need a consultation, a stylist, something, lol! Learning to thrift, what looks good together, what looks good on me, just ain't (yep I am in the south< lol) been working out for a sistah:) I am a teacher too so I am definitely on a budget with two pay cuts and furlough days:( BUT I wouldn't trade teaching for anything, except winning the lottery, lol:)
We really don't have a dress code at work, but, since I work in corp america I try to stay professionally chic with pencil skirts, blouses, and clean trousers. However, I wear sassy or sexy shoes with my conservative looks.
