Sneakers, Jeans and P. Diddy

Can you believe it!?! I'm rocking sneakers AND jeans! I never do that! It's very rare but it was necessary. I had to go to work today (on a Saturday) to put the finishing touches on my classroom. School starts Monday and I had a lot to do to get ready for the 6th graders!

I wasn't even going to post these pics for two reasons. The picture quality SUCKS and I'm not wearing anything spectacular. But, I decided that I'm pretty transparent with you guys and why should I post pictures like I chase butterflies all day in heels? I don't. I pay bills and watch bad tv and eat cereal for dinner. I don't have to wear heels to do all of that. I will say that I felt most unlike myself by wearing jeans. I hate wearing jeans. It may have something to do with the thickness in the hips or the fact that they are just plain HOT! Wearing jeans in Texas heat is not my idea of comfort but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
(I tried to get a close up of my scarf swag...epic FAIL)

And since I'm in the sharing mood, you should know that I dance really provocatively to this song.  It makes me happy. I watch a lot of reality tv and I notice that models and celebrities have music playing in the background to help them "make love to the camera"during photoshoots.  Yeah...this is that song for me. Enjoy!

LMAO I told my mom that I pretend I'm a video vixen when I hear this song! You look like Joanie loves Chachi *in a cute way!* with your jeans and sneakers, love the scarf!

You look so perfect even in jeans and sneakers! Your beauty shines thru with that GORGEOUS smile : )

So excited for your new year. Hope it is spectacular!

PS I really did think you just wore heels every day and chased butterflies. Seriously. I thought someone payed you to chase butterflies. I am so disillusioned. Darn it.

Don't feel bad, I jam to this song too. Oh and Usher's "Daddy's Home", in my mind I'm performing to a sold out crowd, LOL.

Okay, you look cute in sneaker outfit.

And I tried to dance provocatively to that song...eh, my husband asked me if I was feeling alright because it looked as if I'd pulled out my back. I need instructions.

I'm also a fellow natural hair wearing, vintage clothes loving, (new) blogger; I really enjoy the tone/voice of your blog and overall joie de vivre!

I've recently taken to wearing my scarves in the way you have in these photos (I have a slight scarf addiction and love this new use). It's a good way to dress up my protective styles. I was wondering if you found yourself retying them throughout the day? That's my only issue with wearing them this way. I find myself frequently wondering if it's going to fall off, and hence, retying them quite a bit. Also, I work in the public school system (as a related service provider) and was considering incorporating them into my school wardrobe this year. In your opinion, do you think you can pull the scarf off in the school environment?

I so dont approve of diddy and his bitchassness but I have to say I like everything else about this song and I wanted to dislike it. NOT SAY I WILL GIVE THEM MONEY ON A CD but I would not be mad if your "HUSBAND" (yes you said husband i've been dying to call you on that one) made me a mix tape ( yeah I'm old )

@tmainbk: I wouldn't try wearing the scarf too work. I'm pushing it with them accepting my natural hair and polka dot and leopard ensembles! LOL

I pin the sides of my scarf in a criss cross direction to minimize slippage. I does take me a while to stie it correctly though. I get pretty anal about it!

I love the look- it's 1940sish.... plus, I wear my scarves (with my super short hair!) like that too. ;)

I must say that I jam this while I'm cleaning and whatnot around the house. Those ceiling speakers come in handy for something :) Oh, by the way. nothing wrong with you in this ensemble.
