My doctor recently prescribed me some prenatal vitamins. The cost came to $94 WITH insurance!
I let the vitamins stay at the pharmacy.
I later called the doctor's office to see if they had a cheaper an affordable option. I was given a prescription for $11.99.
(Iphone pics strike again)
So now I'm wondering if my baby is predestined to be a an exotic dancer because I chose the cheaper prenatal vitamins! What do the $100 vitamins have that the $12 vitamins don't?

Am I gambling with my baby's future?
Based on my decision for vitamins, my baby could be the next President of the United States, or the next Anna Wintour (Vogue editor High Priestess) or the next Josselyn from Love And Hip Hop Atlanta!?!?
The pressure of motherhood is real!

I just love your sense of humour! I reckon the more expensive ones probably just have higher doses of the vitamins and perhaps a few more of them... I love this outfit - it looks comfortable and chic! Love the bright bag and heels xx

P.S. Liked this post on Bloglovin ;)
Too funny! Just think of it this way your baby is already learning the value of comparison shopping! Lol. You know those doctors get incentives from those pharmaceutical companies to "push" certain meds I am sure there is no difference at all. I am loving these baby posts and pregnancy suits you. Now that Josselyn
pic is hilarious!
Mother to mother-to-be, the OTC prenatal vitamins with DHA from CVS or Walgreens is just as good and are less than $30 for a 2 month supply. Like the commenter before me said, doctors get incentives to push prescriptions. I had a doctor give me a prescription for baby aspirin. Baby aspirin only comes in one dose:/
By the way, you are stuntin', baby bump and all!
LOL...you look great!
You are too funny! My poor baby didn't even get vitamins. His birth mother chose crack cocaine as her prenatal vitamins. Let's both hope he does not turn out to be a Josselyn : ) Your outfit for the party was fabulous. And you know what else is fabulous? That smile!
You are right on. My first I went for the "special" prenatals and then for the second and third, I went generic!! All my kids are healthy honor students who are well adjusted!! Do you!! Happy Pregnancy!!
Ha!! Believe it or not, the vitamins are more for you than for the baby. While in the womb, our little ones have an amazing ability to suck us dry of all of the vitamins & nutrients that we take in. Sometimes they even cause our bodies to crave foods that have certain vitamins that we're lacking!! So, with that said, I don't think clear bottom heels or elephant g-strings (if the baby is a boy) is in the plan. ;)
Did you know that you can get prenatal vitamins with your FSA dollars?? I just found out! :o)
$11 prenatal vitamines are fine. I am sure if you compare both bottles they have the same ingredients. What will make your baby the next president or Ann Wintour is how you will raise him, not how expensive his prenatal vitamins were or how expensive his stroller will be. Just take care of yourself and stay healthy. That is all that matter now. Enjoy your holidays!
All I can do is laugh... LOL! Love the outfit. :)
That's funny and sad he didn't give you a cheaper option to begin with. I'm sure it's not a real difference, they probably expect women to choose the more expensive ones thinking the baby will come out better if they do. Cute look!
That's what I thought! Why even suggest the million dollar vitamins in the first place. My nurse said what all of you guys are saying... That it is all about sales.
GORGE!!!!! U WEAR YOUR BUMP SO WELL!!
I can't stop laughing!! Oh, man. I stopped prenatal vitamins altogether with both my kids because they made me sick. So far so good...but it's a little too soon to tell. If my daughter starts asking to be called "Candi Star" any time soon, I'll report back. You look adorable! (and do I spy bracelets there? The baby let you have bracelets back!!)
Yes you do spy a bracelet (really it's a belt wrapped around my wrist) but it ripped it off before I even got to my destination! LOL!
See now, I'm gonna be looking for "stripper like" tendancies from my baby at an early age!

You are a mess...lol! I just had my first and I had some crazy thoughts as well so I'm not mad at ya. I'd actually opt for an OTC prenatal. Try Vitamin Shoppe. That's where I got mine from and they were awesome. My daughter is 5 months and I am still taking them. I warn you against taking your doctor's advice for everything. Try to keep things natural and get what you need from food sources. I'd also suggest a doula or reaching out to your natural/hippie friends (I'm sure you have at least one) for dietary/nutrition suggestions. If you have morning sickness there is a ginger tea by West Indian Select that is AWESOME!!! GOOD LUCK MAMA!!!!
Girl boo. I #aintgotit either. lol. The ones that were prescription actually made me sick all of the time and I switched to OTC prenatals- Kroger's Nature's Made!
LOLOL! I was not expecting this post to go --> THERE. LOL, that's hilarious, and really something to think about. My sister was side eyeing those expensive prenatal pills too! Too funny. Nonetheless, "y'all" are looking to fly! More than a million bucks ;].
Sincerely,
Kimberly

LMAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOO you are HILARIOUS! I am sure your baby will be just fine without them high a** prenatal vitamins. I don't have kids, but everyone I know used the regular OTC prenatals...so I'm sure your $12 prescription will give you everything you need!
Lol.
Cute outfit :)
sometimes from vitamin to vitamin the potency varies but rest assured you're getting all that you need from a 12 dollar vitamin as opposed to a 100 dollar vitamin. Some women even just opt for flinstones during pregnancy. I never even went to find out how much the vitamins my doc. prescribed cost because I already knew I wanted a food-based vitamin and that's exactly what I did. Went right to whole foods from my prenatals! Girl you'll be just fine!
