I Don't Wanna Grow Up!

It snowed in Texas today! Trust me, it's a big deal down here in these parts. They shut down schools for really what was just snow flurries to you northerners...but it was enough to make me play in the snow!I wore this today for work. This whole outfit is practically thrifted. I thrifted this Ralph Lauren Blazer for 3 bucks and the Red Riding Boots were about 7 bucks.
For some reason, my students LOVED this Crested Blazer. I had a little boy run me down in the hall to ask me if it was Polo. He was shocked to hear that I got it from the thrift store! See...I do inspire the kids:)I've worn this sweater from Nordstrom's every winter for the past four years to the point that I've stretched out the sleeves. I wish there was a way to have it tightened again. It is so warm and chic! It's kind of a chic SNUGGIE!
I got so excited about the snow (cough, cough...sleet) that I decided to show you what I wore yesterday. I actually wore the wrap with a black dress yesterday but you get the point.

I've been in quite the mood lately but the snow frenzy was just enough to make me smile!

*Please excuse the cheesy poses...I was having fun!

It's like that with snow down here in NC, too. The world shuts down. My first year here, from PA, there was a tiny little dusting on the ground one morning. I didn't even think anything of it and drove to the school where I taught- only to find out that of course it was cancelled.

Fabulous thrift store finds!

You know what? I saw Miley's line and she has some cute pieces.

Man I wish that snowed would have lasted longer. Maybe it will snow again for Christmas and we will have a winter wonderland. One can only hope.

You are adorable! Great, great clothing finds. The red wrap sweater is yummy, and the belt rocks it! You may find this article from Martha Stewart helpful, it's about "blocking" a sweater, which is essentially reshaping it after hand washing. Keep up the great blogs! xxxooo E

You look fantastic in both outfits. I love the red wrap top and your red boots. Gorgeous. I have some long black knee boots that lace up the front with big black ribbons and I LOVE them. I bought them in 1994, and they are just beginning to pass over to the big boot cupboard in the sky. :( I will have to keep my eyes peeled for some lovely thrifted boots. Sending smiles. :)

You look fabulous in the snow! You are so blessed because you are a woman who has enough style to wear her clothes, while my clothes tend to wear me, which isn't quite as effective. I love the joyful spirit:)

Congrats on your SITS day in the Spotlight! You are indeed shining!

That was a great bargain you found there! I guess I don't shop at thrift stores because I feel guilty shopping there when others are really struggling financially more than me.

Had to laugh that you get so excited over just those few little flurries of snow!

Congrats on your SITS day!

I grew up in Alaska where the presence of snow is just the norm. But now I'm in Alabama and you wouldn't believe the mass hysteria when a few flakes fall from the sky.

Also, that reminds me, I need to stock up on some milk and bread.
