Conversations

(Remember I told you that my class was reading the teen fantasy book The Hunger Games?? Ummm...yeah I'm hooked. I made it a point to get to the bookstore to get the second book in the trilogy. First Twilight, now The Hunger Games. I'm ashamed but only a little:)
(Excuse the crazy eye contact in the above pics:)
Happy Mother's Day to all mothers...especially mine:) These are the gladiator shoes that sent Target buyers into a frenzy because they were designed by Cynthia Vincent. They are simply perfect:)

I was in Marshall's looking around and overheard this conversation.

Mother: (browsing through the racks) I don't know what I want for Mother's Day.
Her Son who is atleast 40 years old: (loudly) You better find something woman.
Mother: (picks up a dresss) I don't know what to get.
Grown A## Son: You know you ain't getting nothing after today. So find something and let's go.
Me: *blank stare*

In the same store...in less than five minutes after the first conversation.

Man talking on his cell phone: Hey man, what's up? I haven't heard from you in a while.
Person on the other line says something...
Man on Cell:  (laughing)Man, I've been up at the hospital all week. My stupid son got shot by one of his friends.
Person on the line I am sure sounds shocked.
Me: *hiding behind the purses so I can hear the rest of the conversation*
Man on Cell Phone: Yeah, the doctors say that the bullet has to stay in but he should recover.  He says he is cool with the guy that shot him. The friend was at the hospital with him when I left earlier today.
ME: *almost run into a rack of belts because who stays friends with someone who just shot you!*

...Man on the phone turns around and makes direct eye contact with me. I smile and turn around...

Mother: HOW ABOUT YOU CLEAN UP YOUR ROOM for Mother's Day.

those shoes a cute but wedges always make me walk funny. I have a few pair and I always turn my heel in them. Why are you listening to people's conversations in Marshall's you know most people seem crazy from the outside looking in.

I've heard about those shoes--they are ADORABLE--and I have also heard that they are sold out at all my surrounding Targets. You're lucky you got your hands on a pair--they're amazing!

I hope to H*ll you hit both those dudes with that adorable Louis Vuitton bag you were carrying...on second thought, you probably didn't because you could have damaged the bag.

Soooo...does this mean that the grown a$$ son still stays at home with his mother???? Or maybe she is staying with him...still... I guess the other guy's son and his friend were playing with the gun and it went off...maybe...WHY am I trying to figure all of this out?

Very cute wedges. I never considered target for shoes.

Now, those conversations. The first guy needs a smack in the mouth. The second guy, LOL for being so cool about the situation, but his son needs new friends.

You caught some crazy-sounding conversations! Also, this outfit is excellent!

And feel no shame for loving Catching Fire. Young adult literature is some of the best around!

Great shoes! I'm guessing they're already gone in my area.

Man, hearing conversations like those always make me feel a little better about my own life, no matter how crazy it is! ;)

Man oh man. I literally giggle out loud every single time I read your blog. This is sooo funny! I used to work for a guy as pathetic as son A. It was awful.

I'm totally jealous of those wedges! I love them so much, but absolutely cannot do the height. Boo!

LMAO!!! Didn't you just say that you were glad your grocery store runs aren't as eventful as mine? HA!!! That Target trip (overheard conversations) sounds soooo like something that would happen to me. I swear you're my twin. LOL

I need to head to Target, you look great! And there is nothing wrong with the teen section, I've been meaning to read the Twilight books.

Thanks for the comments. Sorry the JS Dany is now haunting your dreams. I'll let you know if I hear anything from the Vince Camuto group about the possibility of a pre-order AND you were one of those bloggers I was talking about re: those Cynthia Vincent wedges. So envious.

Okay, so I just laughed out loud...really loud. That's freakin hilarious. Husband thinks I'm nutso and is making fun of me for having "online friends" right now. BTW, super cute shoes :)

I confess to listening to conversations in stores too. Sometimes the way kids talk to their parents is disgusting. Um, I'd hate to think of the wrath that would come down on my 20 and 18 year old if they even thought about it! Luckily, they wouldn't even think of it. :)

I'm sorry but I can't help but laugh about the gunshot guy. That's like something you'd see on TV.
