Better Late than Never

I just watched the movie, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" for the first time ever. I get it now. I finally get it!

Oh.My.God. It was style porn for me
. (I'm gonna get ridiculous hits on my blog for using that 'p' word but it's the only word that fits.)

I know everyone was falling all over Audrey Hepburn's iconic black dress but the wardrobe at the "cocktail party"... especially that white dress of one of the party goers...FABULOUS!

Then I saw the black cape and red turban on Patricia Neal (had to look her up, I won't even pretend to act like I really know who she is.)

I. Died.

(above pic taken with my Blackberry...yes it was that serious)

Ironically, I was just reading about this movie in Nina Garcia's "The Black Book of Style." I believe now. I believe.

I watched the wardrobe more than the actual movie but I eventually got into it. I watched it with the same eye I would watch SATC back in the day:)

What movie makes you wanna jump through the tv and snatch the wardrobe right of the character's back?

Gentelmen Prefer Blondes with Marilyn Monroe & Jane Russell

Butterfield 8 with Elizabeth Taylor THE CLOTHES IN THAT MOVIE!!! OMG!!!

Anything with Barbara Stanwyck, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford....too many to name.

Edith Head was a costume stylist and designer for many of the movies in the 30's and 40's. She was the chick!

I love old movies specifically for the clothing and the interior designs. This is the only reason why I pay cable bill ... for Turner Classic Movie Channel!

Ooh, thanks Reiko & Moni, for the film suggestions. I'm going to have to check these out. I still haven't seen "Breakfast at Tiffany's." "Sex & The City" is full of fab fashion, of course. Do you think people will swoon over it 50 years from now?

Reiko, are you going to do a review of Nina Garcia's book? I'd love your take on it.

Either of the Hepburn's (Audrey or Katherine) wardrobes,in any film they ever made!!

They both had CLASS that made them gorgeous no matter what they wore! I'd love to have that level of class and style!!

That movie is definitely one of my favorite fashion films ever!

I loved it just as much ... and have seen it more than once.

I also have Nina Garcia's book you're speaking of...I think...she has a lot of them. Let me check. I just bought them all! lol

I'm glad you finally watched it. I would have to say SATC 1 and 2 would make me want to jump through the TV.

The original Born Yesterday. I only wish I could have seen her outfits in color. Just some powerful and structured for a woman's body.

I agree with most everyone here especially the person who says we need to bring back femme glamour! I would love to see women dressing again... all I need is a reason to shop honey... just give me a reason!!!!

Love breakfast at Tiffany's and going to watch it again to check out the fashions.... I have always been a Doris Day fan too!

May I have those gator pumps, please! Love that movie. But I think my place to kill the mean reds is definitely the Jimmy Choo store Galleria I or Henri Bendel in NYC.

My fav fashion-porno would have to be Devil Wears Prada, Mahogany, and of course Sex in the City I.
