GFS Christ Chic: Timed Chaos

Are you one of those people who will lay your clothes out the night before?
How does that work!?!
Teach me.
How do you know what kind of mood you are going to be in the next day?
That baffles me.

Mr. GFS gets mad every Sunday because he says I make him late.
That is so not true.
It's just that I think of the small details as I'm walking out of the door.
I'll get downstairs, then run back up because I decided to change a shoe.

(H&M Shirtdress/Belt gifted from Mom, Thrift skirt/clutch, Dolce Vita sandals)

I'll get to the door when I realize, I'd rather wear different earrings.
Oh,  then I have to pack my purse for some "church scooby snacks."
(usually pretzels, cheese or almonds...yes, I'm 3 years old)
I'll get to the car then will hop back out so I can go grab a different belt.
LOL!
It drives him crazy!!
He swears every time that we are going to be late for church.

But that NEVER happens.
We always get there on time.
ALWAYS.
But when we get there, I have to go to the ladies room because I forgot to use it at home!
But I always make it to my seat before the man who looks like he was a member of the70's group The Whispers sings his solo.

I like to call it "timed chaos."
It's gonna trend one of these days.

Do you pick out your clothes the night before?

*GFS "Christ Chic" posts are simply what I wore to church*

I have NO idea how people pick out their clothes in advance! Everytime I do, I end up changing that outfit. We are emotional dressers :-). I love that skirt, and we've already talked about how I feel about that floral shirt!

Wow I thought it was just me!

Very cute outfit! I love long skirts.

I try to pick my clothes out for the week, but I never make it past Tuesday for the exact reason that you mentioned. Mood. Then my closet ends up a complete mess by the time the week ends. I clean it up on Saturday, and start the madness all over again. I guess I'm a bit crazy... but who isn't? =D

I love this look! I have a couple of long, full black skirts that are actually ballroom practice skirts. I would love to wear them as part of an outfit...but I am just a bit timid about it.

This is so cute on you, maybe I will get the cajones to try it out myself.

GIRL! Do it! Or send those skirts to me!!!

This look is so cute. I will have to find something in my closet that can help me reproduce it. And to answer your question: I usually dress in 5mns or 15 mns before getting out of the door. But when I have something special: I spend the previous night stying my clothes for hours only to change at the last mnute the following day. And I often go back to change my shoes or accessories....So you see you are not the only. The hubby should just put up with it lol

Hahahaha - I actually plan out my clothes for the week on Sunday afternoon/evening! That way, I can make sure things I want to wear aren't dirty or at the cleaners. Then I write it down in my planner. Sounds very organized, right? But at least once a week, I'm not in the mood to wear what's on the list so then I leave a trail of clothes all over the house trying to find something. *sigh* but looking back at my list from previous weeks does remind me of what looed great when I'm in a hurry. so not a complete waste of time...

THIS!!! ----> "ow do you know what kind of mood you are going to be in the next day? That baffles me."

You and me both, Reiko!!! How the hell am I supposed to know what I wanna wear tomorrow? And let's not even talk about packing in advance for a trip...it's painful!

Drives Fab crazy, too...

I normally get my stuff out the day of. EVERY now and then I will do it the night before but it's not often. I wore a skirt just like this today lol

I keep saying that I am gonna lay my clothes out, but it never happens. I think about it and sometimes end up wearing what I thought about just before going to bed but I never actually lay them out. Maybe I should try one day and let you know! You look fabulous by the way...

I used to when I was younger and I just recently started getting back into the habit. I am notorious for making myself late figuring out what I'm wearing for the day so i"m glad that I started the habit up again.

During the week, I prepare my outfit the night before. I have my prep time down to a science so having to iron that morning cuts into my sleep time. If it's an outfit I've never worn before, I try it on to make sure I'll like it with the right shoes and accessories. Very rarely do I make changes. To me, it's exciting knowing I'll be cute the next day. LOL

GFS said...

I sure do pick them out. I can actually plan a few days worth of outfits. I guess I don't dress for mind, just dress for style in general and that won't change in the morning.

GFS said...

Wow! That is impressive! Ironing is not a factor in my schedule because I won't iron. I hate it. I beg the hubby to do it from time to time lol www.godsfavoriteshoes.com

You look amazing! I absolutely love this look!!!

Love the look! That skirt looks so comfortable and carefree.
I can plan out outfits, the problem is sticking to the plan. lol. I pretty much dress according to my mood and there is no way I can predict my mood.

About 75% of the time, I do lay out my clothes, especially if it's for work the next day. Otherwise, I don't care lOl. I go by the weather and what day of the week it will be..no real rhyme or reason.

GFS said...

LOL, yep, I'm one that picks my clothes the night before, since high school. In my early 40's now and I still do it. Everything gets done the night before, after listening the the weather for the next day. Underwear, accessories, shoes etc. All laid out! I don't change anything, but I will lay out an extra option (i.e. change in belt/shoe) but my mood never changes in the morning. I love the stress-free mornings! I have a 7yr old boy, and I lay his stuff out the night before too! Try it.

LOL @ church scooby snacks. That is some kinda hilarious. I do put my clothes out the night before but that means nothing 90% of the time because I change my mind the morning #TimedChaos. I am loving the floral dress/shirt paired with that skirt...fabulous!

LOL you are too funny. I may have an outfit idea laid out in my head the day before but I never go with it when the time comes, I always change my mind. I don't know why I even bother thinking about my outfit in advance.

GFS said...

Yes Reiko, you know I choose my clothes the night before. If I feel dramatically different the next day, I change if not then the outfit stands as is. Love the floral blouse, it stands out against the skirt so beautifully.

Girl, I was cracking up with that comment about the man who looked like he was from the whispers!!! lol

GFS said...

I am done with you and timed chaos. LMBO!!! Too funny girl. I do iron up our clothes for the week on Sunday... if I don't like what I picked out, too dang on bad. I have to get a kid ready which leaves me no leeway.

Riddle me this: I iron my clothes and we STILL always end up late for church- howzthatwork?

Lol! Your baby is your excuse! You have 18 years to use that one! www.godsfavoriteshoes.com

LOL, I used to be one of those people that layed out their clothes but now I wake up and make a decision in 10 minutes. Very cute look.

GFS said...

True! LMBO. This lady one Sunday said, "thank you guys for coming to church, I know it's not the easiest." Woop woop, that made me feel good.

GFS said...

I only lay out workout clothes.Otherwise,I dress by mood.Everything on down to perfume is done by mood.I can't know how I'm going to feel day to day.Oh well......Robin

Historically, I picked my clothes out at night but now I enjoy going to bed "meditating" on what I will wear the next day. LOL! I love how you styled that dress and that skirt is amazing! Again, you aced it!

GFS said...

Girl I've been wondering about people who do that forever? Sometimes I'll think about my outfit in bed, but I never "lay" anything out. Most of time I go through several outfits in the morning because things don't look right! Ha! Loving this look, the shirtdress is fab!
