I Need Your Help

Just been hanging out this weekend. I got this dress from H&M in Cleveland last year. I threw on my pink fedora and my favorite sandals today. I wore these sandals out last summer so I had to have them re-soled because I couldn't bare not wearing them again. I probably could have used a belt to hide the "jelly" but sometimes you just don't care. By the way, I went to see The A Team today and I was thoroughly entertained:)

I'll be doing a bit of traveling the next few weeks so I need your help.
I'll be in Dallas for a week. I am hoping that I get to catch up with some of my favorite Dallas bloggers:)What are some places do any of you go vintage/thrift shopping in Dallas?

I'll also be in Norfolk, Virginia and Washington, DC next month! Where do you guys go? What must I visit? Where must I eat? Where are the best vintage/thrift shops there? I so HATE going to the "cliche" places when I travel. I wanna go eat a hamburger where I risk getting shot but it's worth it! (Not really). For example, if  you were to come to Houston I would tell you to go to Frenchy's for the best chicken ever and to Burn's for the best barbecue:)

Better yet fill in the blanks:
Girl! If you are in (Dallas/Norfolk, VA. or Washington, Dc), you must eat at ____________ and you must shop at ____________________  for the best___________!
P.S. After careful thought, this is not one of my favorite dresses. I do alot of pulling this, pulling that. The top has wires in the front and back and when I walk my body will be going one direction and the dress is another. Plus I've decided that it needs a belt...but it was so hot in Houston today that I couldn't imagine putting on another piece of clothing on my body. I swear it was so hot that I kept *looking over my shoulder and peeping around corners* because it felt like the devil was following me with a plate of hot grits!!
You get a gold star if you know what song "looking over my shoulder and peeping around corners" comes from! If you know it, chances are you are from the South:)

i'm surprised that no-one stated the trivia answer. it's the geto boys "my mind's playing tricks on me". and no, i'm not from the south. i'm from new york (queens to be exact though i live in brooklyn, baby, baby!) ;)

I love this outfit. You look cool and carefree! A lovely summer dress. I was disappointed that you find it problematic! But it looks GREAT! Really!

If you're going to DC, you have to go to Horace & Dickies. It's a fish sandwich place,(my friend tried a crabcake and was disappointed, but no one told her to get jazzy and order something other than the fish sandwich)it's incredibly tiny so plan to eat in your car, and I don't think you'll get shot in the neighborhood, but to be safe go early and walk quickly. My caveat is that I'm Southern and didn't expect to find good fish sandwiches in DC, (frankly, what do they know about fish sandwiches?) but it is defiantly a place I'll go to again when I'm in the area.

Great...now I'm going to be humming My Mind's Playing Tricks On Me the rest of the day.

When are you coming to NYC? Hubby is heading to Cali for the Ralph Lauren/Polo Manager's meeting. They are unveiling the fall collection.

The dress looks fabulous. Darn it all that it isn't comfortable. I can't see any jelly at all!

I have no good eateries for you in either of those places... : (

If you were coming to Philly I could surely give you some great ideas : ) I hope you have the best time!

I hope the devil and his heat stop following you!

Girl you know I’m a self proclaimed foodie. Baba Yega is good.
Pappas take on greek food ( I LOVES me some greek food). Their brunch is good too...I'm glad you liked it. I've been doing Cadillac Bar brunch lately but its time to switch it up.

That is a huge step not eating the whole thing FOR REAL....I know it was good.
Oh and now you got me wanting to see the A team!

and CONGRATS! CONGRATS CONGRATS on the new job! Way to go chica.

Have fun on your trips. take lots of pics!

I wish I could give you good advice, but I've only been in the DC area for a few years. I know it sounds like a lot, but it really isn't, lol. I'll see what I can find out from my native Washingtonian and Prince Georgian friends though, lol.

Where do you thrift shop in Houston? I just came across your blog and I love your look. Please share with this Texas gal.

I know it's not a thrift store - but Filene's Basement in DC is absolutely awesome! I have found Valentino, Armani, Calvin, Fendi, etc., etc. I like the one near the Mayflower Hotel on Connecticut Ave and the one at Mazza Galleria on Wisconsin Avenue. http://www.filenesbasement.com/store_locator.php.

For Mexican food in DC you cannot beat Cactus Cantina - great scene and awesome margaritas.

And how could you not mention Otto's for BBQ in Houston (or the Goode Company?).
