12 Days til Christmas...

T Shirt/Riding Leggings: Zara's
Tuxedo Jacket: Thrifted

It's been a while. I was waiting for a holiday party to roll around to show what I decided to wear. It was pretty basic. My intention was to wear a sequin jacket that I thrfited but I just couldn't get that look together. I kind of felt like I was an alternate dancer on Solid Gold. All I was missing was an Olivia Newton John headband to look like that Asian lady with the long hair to her ankles on Soul Train. So, I decided to wear a Tuxedo jacket instead.

Of course, I pulled out the Leopard Heels! I probably should have layered a longer tank top underneath to avoid the "hoochie" look but it was a holiday party with some teachers...I decided a little bit of "hooch" on my off day was okay. (My dog Frankie Beverly was trying to get in the shot)

I am so in love with this t-shirt. Yes, it is none other than Grace Jones. The ORIGINAL "Lil Kim"! I'm not into Grace Jones even a little bit but you gotta love this picture of her. I have this in both black and white, I simply can't get enough of it. I've also decided that I love Zara's stores since we finally have one here in town. It's the closest to H & M we will get in Texas. I do think their sizing system is generally not for humans. I do believe that their target consumers are those with eating disorders but every now and then they will throw a thick girl a bone! So be it, if it's a Grace Jones T-shirt and some riding pants:)

**If you've never heard of Grace Jones, Olivia Newton John, Soul Train or Solid Gold...it's okay. That just means that you are younger than me...just look at the pictures and smile**

Hehe - you are too funny! I love this look! I think it's one of the chicest, easiest and most importantly COMFIEST looks for a party. ESPECIALLY with those killer heels!!!

Several things I need to say here....first, Grace Jones freakin' rocks and that tee shirt is soooo amazing! Now I must run out and search for that shirt at my local Zara:) Needless to say that you are totally rocking this look. Secondly, why is it that until In living color did a spoof on that Asian lady in Soul/Old Train...did I think that I was the only one who realized that she had been on there for well over one thousand years....lol Wasn't that lady like every where back in the day?

Lovin the that classic Tee with the blazer. Total 80s look. Grace Jones use to be the bomb back in the day w/ my girl Tina! Both were icons, you don't see star presence like that anymore.

Yous crazzzzzzy! LMAO...the asian lady on Soul Train. I remember her. I used to wear bed sheets on my head and pretend it was hair so I could be like the Asian lady on Sooooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuulll Traaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain! I would flip my bed sheet like it was real hair.

LOL, your posts always brighten my day. I love a fashion blog with some humor :) You look great, and I'm totally jealous of two things 1) those shoes and 2) that you have a Zaras and I don't :(

You will be SOOOO proud of me!!! I usually shop at Macy's, but this year I vowed to try something new. So I went to Marshall's...and I hit the jackpot!!! Not only did I spot some cool Ralph Lauren shirts for my teacher/coach hubby (like you...he refuses to wear the "standard uniform"...in his case it is sweats instead of crocs and apple sweaters), BUT I also spotted my beloved Calvin Klein dresses. Oh how I love Calvin's dresses!!! Your blog has changed me...you have changed me...Thank you!!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!

LOL...Raven...why do you even bother commenting as "anonymous"? I always know it's you:) I told you about TJ MAXX and Marshall's. I very rarely go to dept stores anymore.
